Civil Engineer - Project Engineer

General Position Summary

Water, Civil, and Environmental Inc. (WCE Inc.) is looking for a skilled, self-motivated professional with a background in civil engineering and/or water resources. The preferred candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in preparing plans and specifications, experience performing hydraulic modeling in HEC-RAS, and the ability and desire to work on diverse project types including hydrology and hydraulic design, civil site design/layout, environmental remediation, and construction assistance/oversight. Candidates should have a strong background in hydraulic modeling and/or analysis, plan and specification development, and report writing as well as a working knowledge of the consulting industry. Preferred candidates will be client-focused, demonstrate a passion for quality, and be able to conduct periodic field work outside in variable weather conditions with potentially rough terrain in remote areas requiring up to 15% overnight travel.

Essential Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Independent, adaptable, and highly motivated.

  • Ability to mentor and coach EIT staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with performing 1D and 2D modeling in HEC-RAS.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation proficiency.

  • Bachelor's Degree (minimum) or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Ability to obtain professional engineer registration in Idaho within 6 months, licensure in western states such as California, Arizona, or other states is a plus.
  • Experience working in the consulting industry is a plus.
  • Experience working for/with federal or state agencies is a plus.

Civil AutoCAD Designer

General Position Summary

Water, Civil, and Environmental Inc. (WCE Inc.) is looking for detail-oriented, self-motivated civil AutoCAD designer with a strong background in developing civil and water resources plans and details. The preferred candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience, be proficient in both AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation, be able to work independently, and have the ability and desire to work on diverse project types such as site plan development, plan profile development, design details, and mechanical design.

Essential Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Certificate or Associate’s degree from an accredited college/university, completion of technical trade school courses, or equivalent experience
  • Certification as an Autodesk® Certified Professional or equivalent preferred
  • 3+ years of recent intermediate-to-advanced level professional experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation to develop detailed designs for complex civil engineering projects
  • Ability to develop designs using both 2D and 3D tools
  • Ability to interpret and develop detailed plan sets and drawings from sketches and mark-ups provided by engineers
  • Ability to complete basic calculations related to engineering drawings including areas, lengths, volumes, distances, line and curve tables, elevations, datum conversions and coordinate systems
  • Familiarity with GIS systems is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • The ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with clients and project team members
  • Experience working in the consulting industry is a plus
  • Experience working on federal or state agencies projects is a plus


Civil Engineer - Civil/Water Resources Design

General Position Summary

Water, Civil, and Environmental Inc. (WCE Inc.) is looking for self-motivated junior engineer with a strong background in engineering and/or water resources. The preferred candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience, be able to work independently and have the ability and desire to work on diverse project types including hydrology and hydraulic design, civil site design/layout, and construction assistance/oversight.

Candidates should have a background in hydraulic modeling and/or analysis, plan and specification development, and report writing.

Preferred candidates will have their EIT or the ability to obtain their EIT within 3 months of starting the position, demonstrate a passion for quality, and be able to conduct periodic field work outside in variable weather conditions with potentially rough terrain in remote areas requiring up to 25% overnight travel.
